nice pose first of all and very good looking background
i really liked the angle of the camera
the snow looks really great
i can see that you r a newcomer to the digital painting world just like me

nice anatomy but the right eye should be a lil more visible i think
oh one more thing the tree that she leans on, it looks really flat a few branches and texture would really add a lot to the pic
+7

Really nice work on the background. I think her skin needs more tones in it so it fits with the surroundings more blues and greens perhaps. Other than that, nice work

Enialadam is right. A winter evening means blue light and blue shadows. You'r character got warm skintones, make them colder. ;)
Pretty good work with the anatomy though, but don't be lazy and paint that eye! :p
Trees could also need some details, like more details and wood textures. Good going!

Nice composition but I think the hands need a little more work. Nice work :)

I think the colors of this piece are a bit too bright.
i think this is called hue.
So I'd say reduce the hue a bit. It's especially extreme at the blue tones.

Did you do this with Photoshop? It has a very illustrator type feel. I like this piece, it's very different from what I'm used to seing in digital art, and the shadows really help convey depth. Great work. +10

This work is good, but seems a bit incomplete. I mean you can go further with this to make it really great. the skin toning as everyone said, needs work... but overall i think you hve done a splendid job. great to see you go to further heights after all these, but pay ttention to detailing.
love,

Hey Recce, I think there is some good work here. The background has some cool detail. One thing I think it could use is some atmospheric perspective. The tree on the right for instance, is on the same line as the tree on the left. right now it looks like a miniature tree instead of moving back into the background. So if you move it up a bit and lower the saturation and the contrast it will recede into the background.

O! I am surprised she is not blue with such a back ground!!!! She looks WARM, but background is cold - I don't understand your idea little bit...
In my opinion could be nice to add to her some blue tones to the skin, having such a background.

i cant believe this is a 'figure study' as you put it. its quite good actually.

the thing that is bothering me is its luminosity - form and composition are top notch

proportions are very nice. One of the hardest things to get down. However, there are two main issues. Inconsitancy with ligting, and lack of accurate proportional depth. First, as mentioned the lighting is a bit too stark in the foreground.. you're washing out the highlights too much for what seems a gloomy day. Also the stark shadows, the light hitting the snow almost always bounces back up onto objects. So the back of the tree for example should not be black.. but should be getting a little desaturated blue light. Color trasnfer due to light in a few other areas too. the purple of the cape on the skin, the purple of the boots on the snow.. all subtle. Now as for the depth.. I don't get the sense that the mountains are far away and that the tree in the background is that far either. This is lack of depth. You've done a gradient to the ground and tried to lose the mountains in blue. However, what should happen is the tree should have some of that blue as well.. and also the depth also lowers contrast.. so things become a bit more washed out as they take on that atmospheric depth. Secondly, the ground could have some bumps or items that allow us to see the ground going farther and farther away as those details would become smaller and smaller. The one tree is not enough. Over all I think you had the right ideas.. it's just working at utilising them a bit better. Great job so far though :)
